When I'm Not Blogging, I'm Savoring the Moments. Here Are Some of Those Moments!

Sometimes it's important to stop....... the hustle and bustle of life, stop the routine, stop the busyness, stop the chaos and just be.  It's important to pay attention to the world around us, the people around us and just enjoy and be thankful.   That's not always easy in today's busy, over-scheduled world. Life is short and tomorrow's aren't promised, so it's important to take time out to enjoy our blessings, even if that means certain things fall by the wayside and that's exactly why my blog has been a little neglected this past month.  I'm not a fan of excuses, so I thought I'd use today's post to share some of the moments that I've enjoyed instead of writing blog posts.  Here goes.......

A while back we took a ride to one of our favorite destinations....Grafton State Park.  Unlike the majority of visitors to the park, we actually prefer the less populated portion of the park which includes Second, Shaver and Mill Pond, along with the Dunham Reservoir.  Below is a photo of Second Pond.  If you've never explored the rest of this park, aside from Long Pond where the swimming beach is, you can read a previous blog post here:  http://www.lifeasiseeitphotography.net/2014/04/a-little-piece-of-heaven-on-earth.html

Another beautiful day, we returned to a place we visited last summer, Fort Ticonderoga.  A blog post will be coming soon, but for now, here's a preview of the view of the Fort taken from atop Mount Defiance.

Of course we couldn't miss the chance to take the grandkids to the Saratoga Balloonfest!

Summer calls for some pool time, and what fun would it be if sisters didn't insist on fitting into the baby pool together?

This face....the perfect expression to describe her spunky personality!

There seems to be a little confusion again this year regarding just who the sugar syrup feeders are for.  The woodpeckers aren't confused......they (at least 6 of them) drink from both of my bigger feeders daily, draining them dry.  Who knew woodpeckers have a sweet tooth?
Hummers? Not!!

Lucky for us, our best friends welcome the girls to enjoy their pool and enjoy they do!!

Last week, perhaps a little too late, but before the terrible storm hit Central Park, we had a chance to visit the Rose Garden.  Blog post on this is coming soon!  You won't want to miss it!!!  Here's just one of the beautiful specimens we saw.

What kid do you know who doesn't like bubbles?  Elena mastered the technique for creating these giant bubbles using a bubble wand we bought in Perkins Cove, ME back when our kids were young.  It still works and still brings out the wide-eyed wonder of every kid who experiences it.

Then there was the Fourth of July (my birthday).  As tradition goes, we enjoyed our local parade, a delicious summer lunch, some birthday cake (2) and ended the day with fireworks!

This one wasn't a fan of the siren from the fire trucks.

Everyone but son-in-law, Eric, who had to work.

So, there's my excuses for fewer posts than usual!  I've been busy having fun, enjoying the family and the summer.  Isn't that what life is all about??  I may love blogging and even when I'm not writing posts, I'm still taking photos, but at the end of the day, life is about the people you love and it's important to make the time to enjoy them.  I'll be back soon with tales of our journeys, so thanks for your patience and for tagging along with my Life As I See It.  I hope your summer journeys are filled with sunshine, ice cream, bubbles, people you love and memories made!  See You Soon!
