Shades of Green, A Soothing Place to Inspire Your Garden and Soothe Your Soul

Wednesday, June 8, 2016
You know how every season brings anticipation?   For instance, winter brings the anticipation of the holidays.....decorations, presents, family visits.  Summer brings anticipation of warm weather, school break, vacation.  Well for me the growing season always brings anticipation of green....lots and lots of lush, beautiful green and there's no where better to find that than the paradise known as Shades of Green in Charlton, NY.  Yes, I've written about Shades of Green before but honestly, it would be just unfair if I didn't share last week's visit with you because didn't we all learn the importance of sharing?
Shades of Green 2016

I've been visiting Shades of Green for several years now - to stock my own garden, to spend some time with Wynne Trowbridge, owner and creator of this paradise, and mostly to just steal away some quality time in this serene corner of heaven.  This year I knew I couldn't buy because I have no space left, but that didn't matter because I still couldn't miss my annual visit.  Why..........here's why!  (Click on any photo for a larger view.)

Do you get it now?   Shades of Green may be a retail venue for beautiful shade plants, but it is also a captivating and relaxing botanical retreat that calms the soul and restores sanity.  If you're thinking I should have bought something during my visit.....not to worry.....I did.  How could I not?!?!   If you have even one corner of shade in your yard, you need to take a drive to Charlton to visit Shades of Green.  If you can't get there but haven't had enough....check out my previous posts with lots more photos......because words don't do justice to a place this beautiful.  Thanks for reading.  Please share this with a friend who needs some beauty and calm in their life.   To read earlier Shades of Green posts:
