Ever notice how three year olds live life with gusto? I've spent the last 3 days with our granddaughters, thanks to spring break, and have made some pretty subtle observations pertaining to the difference between the 3 year old and the 7 year old. It makes me think we'd all benefit from taking notes, and modeling our behavior and zest for life from the little one. All too soon, we grow up and get serious, take life seriously, get caught up with what others think of us. At times, we let that hinder our ability to have fun, without inhibitions. I propose we all try to live life more like a three year old!
- Embrace each day as an opportunity to try new things....not just new skills, but new ways to have fun.
- Laugh.....at everything....even yourself.
- Dance.....like no one is watching and especially if they are....with gusto. Rhythm is optional.
- Make others laugh....it's good for their health.
- Dress to please -- yourself. Be comfy, and cozy, loud and sassy, bright and sparkly. Stop being ashamed of your naked self.
- Don't be so serious. Laugh at your mistakes.
- Embrace your inner princess.
- Love with all your heart. Accept people and their flaws, better yet, don't notice them.
- Sing .....loud and proud, even if you don't know the words.
- Value a good piece of chocolate (or 2) as a daily vitamin and the cure for everything that ails you.
- Live in the moment and then know when it's time to move on.
- Take time to look for treasures in unexpected places. Collect the simple things.
- Be generous with your love - hug, kiss, and tell the people in your life you love them!
Life is short. Some days we forget to have fun. I hope this post serves as a reminder to embrace life and all the wonder it has to offer!
