A Country Favorite Comes to Town - Welcome to Schuyler Pond at Scallions

Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Over the past two years, since the inception of this blog, I've come to realize that some of the most popular posts I've written are those featuring great retail shops.  I'd be lying if I said they weren't some of my favorites too, and I've certainly found some great ones - like today's feature, one I've blogged about more than once.  I'm talking about Schuyler Pond, now Schuyler Pond at Scallions. Beginning today, April 7th, Schuyler Pond opens at their new location in the retail space attached to Scallions Restaurant.  I got a sneak peek yesterday and all I can say is WOW, just WOW.

Not nearly as big as the beautiful and massive barn where it was originally located, but just as charming, Schuyler Pond at Scallions is still filled with wonderful home goods, original art, curated gifts for home and baby, handmade jewelry, and vintage finds.  You'll see items here that you won't see anywhere else!  Still one of the most colorful and cheerful shops you'll visit, Schuyler Pond at Scallions engages your senses at every turn.   Amanda Crames.....the shop's owner, has so skillfully arranged merchandise for display that I found myself spending as much time admiring her vignettes as I spent admiring the items in the vignettes.  For as long as I've known Amanda and have been visiting her shop, each and every time I leave I want to bring her home and have her stage my house!  I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way!
Note:  Don't forget to click on photos individually to view at a higher resolution.
Schuyler Pond continues their partnership with local artist, Jennifer Lanne.  Jennifer creates the beautiful canvases you see throughout the shop as well as new merchandise for the home, including her ingenious pads of placements, trivets, soap and more.  They also continue to support other local favorites including KOBO candles and Sundaes Best Hot Fudge.   If you haven't tried that, I strongly suggest you do so soon.  It is sinful....in a really good way ;)

What I love about the new location is the way the merchandise is all together in a small space.  It's so easy to see everything.  Although I had quite the love affair with the big 'ole barn, the new shop is so easily navigated compared to the challenges some might have had getting to the upper level in the barn.   Shoppers of all ages will love being able to enjoy every bit of this location.  And what a perfect location it is - right in town. Not to mention it's the perfect way to combine a great meal at Scallions with some great shopping, all under one roof.  I know you ladies are all about that!

Schuyler Pond at Scallions is the perfect place to buy a gift. With such a wide variety of high quality items, it's the perfect destination for one-stop shopping.  I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with any gift bought here.  I mean.....can you?  Here's a sampling of photos to give you a preview of what you'll find when you visit.  I apologize in advance for the large quantity of photos.  I got carried away and took a lot - a lot more than I even posted here.  I couldn't post them all.....I had to leave a few surprises for you!

Aren't these the sweetest?!?!
