Sunday Road Trip In Search of Snow...We Found It In Vermont

Sunday, January 13, 2019

I'm probably in the minority here, but I've been missing snow.  We haven't been on a road trip since the leaves fell and I've been itching to get out and take some photos....particularly of snow cover.  Since Mother Nature has been failing to deliver the white stuff, we headed to Vermont today and guess what...............we found snow....beautiful white snow, a crystal blue, cloudless sky and bright sunshine.  The day couldn't have been more perfect.  We began in Shaftsbury, traveled through Manchester and Dorset, Rupert, and Pawlet before landing in Granville, and home by way of Route 40 with a quick stop on Saratoga Lake to catch the sunset.  I took over 150 photos, so all in all, I'd consider it a successful day!  Obviously I can't fit that many photos here, so I'll share more on my Facebook page later this week.  Here's the highlights!

Sometimes the roads we take aren't exactly pristine and sometimes, like this one, they are ice packed and a bit dicey.....which is a little unnerving especially when there is a very deep cliff on the passenger side of the road.  Lucky for me, I have an excellent, and seasoned chauffeur.

And at the end of the day.....there's no place like home (or what used to be home).  Sunsets on the lake are gorgeous regardless of the season.
This will have to hold me until the weather pattern changes.  Let's face it, this can't last forever....or can it?    Thanks for stopping by!  Come back soon for more Life As I See It.
