A Springtime Visit to the Olde Mercantile

Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Can you believe it - Easter is less than two weeks away?  I don't know about you, but I love to change up my decor to reflect the seasons.  Right about now I like to add some colorful florals, some spring accents....things to reflect what's going on outside my window.  Judging from the response I get when I do posts featuring stores that accommodate our 'nesting' instincts.....you all do too!  In fact, I recently realized that my posts about shops are some of my most popular subjects.  So much so that I've added a category to my blog - Let's Shop!!   Now if you click on the category above, labeled "Let's Shop", you can read all my posts featuring stores in succession!!  What a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon!!  Anyhow, my second most popular shop featured in my blog is easily the Olde Mercantile in Cohoes, NY.  John and I paid a little visit there last week to check out the spring merchandise and found no shortage of it.  From booth to booth, vendor to vendor, spring was hatching out all over!

Love these new 'spring' flattened bottles by Marcelle....normally used as cheese servers, I love how she's adapted them to hang on the wall and look like vases!  So Clever and pretty!

If you love country and primitive, you'll find so many fun and beautiful things at the Olde Mercantile. Located on 130 Remsen Street, just across from the Breakfast Spot (my next post feature).  Filled with over 60 vendors, the mercantile is one of everyone's favorite shops.  Check it out today!  The Olde Mercantile is open Wed. 10:00-3:00, Thurs., 10:00-5:00, Fri, 10:00-4:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00, Sunday 11:00-4:00.   Closed Monday and Tuesday.
